Copiah County Released Inmates is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the agency that holds the record for those services.
Choose the Record-Holding Office
The right contact depends on the custody system and the record needed. A county release entry belongs with the sheriff. Court orders and dispositions belong with the clerk for the court that handled the matter. MDOC manages state corrections records and supervision, while Mississippi SAVIN assists with custody notifications. No official Copiah County sheriff records hours or fixed copying fee were published in the reviewed sources. Call before traveling and request a cost estimate before authorizing chargeable work.

MDOC Public Records
Written requests for a state time computation, release or discharge record, transfer history, or offender photograph
Use the MDOC GovQA request portal. MDOC does not accept public-records requests by telephone.
Use the subject of the request to narrow the next step:
- For a released person or a county jail-docket entry, the home page gives the complete search and records-request route.
- For active parole, probation, earned-release supervision, or another community status, use Post-Release Supervision and the local MDOC office above.
- For a same-day group of Copiah jail exits, use 24-Hour Releases; Copiah does not publish an official web feed, so the page explains the record request.
- For a future state date, use the Release Date Lookup. For a specific-person custody alert, use the VINE Inmate Check.
- For the local facility itself, use the Copiah County Jail page and the Sheriff's Office contact above.
- For a sentenced state prisoner, search the Mississippi Department of Corrections by MDOC number or name, then use GovQA when a written state record is needed.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP Inmate Locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator System only when the known facts point to that system.
A sheriff entry and a court file often answer different questions. The jail docket shows how and when county custody ended or changed. The court order explains the legal authority. If the sheriff recorded an agency transfer, contact the receiving system because release from Copiah County does not necessarily mean release to the community.
